Easter with Allergies

Easter is hard with allergies and intolerances.  I have a son who is intolerant to SUGAR.  I am intolerant to gluten and dairy and one of my daughters to lactose.  Intolerant means if we eat sonething we shouldn't we will suffer, but we wont die.  One of my best friends has a son with a peanut allergy and a daughter with an egg allergy.   There are no second chances.  Alternatives are becoming more available but they are still in short supply.  So here is a list of allergy safe easter treats and alternatives to chocolate so nobody feels like they are missing out.

For those who don't want edible gifts at all, there is a wide range of Easter products now available to make it feel like Christmas, I mean Easter.  Kmart, Target, Big W, Coles, Woolies and Aldi all sell a variety of products you can put together o make a great Easter Basket for a child including easter themed books and colouring books, soft toys and clothing.  My sugar-free son got a plush rabbit from the Easter bunny when he was about 5 and sugarfree Easter kinda sucked.  Three ywars later, Hoppity is missing an ear and is my son's most treasured possession.  I only have 2 bargaining chips when it comes to that boy.  YouTube and Hoppity.  This year I got my other son a chocolate scented plush in the hope it would confuse his spidey senses that can sniff out chocolate through a cash tin hidden in a puzzle box under a pile of wet washing.  It didnt work but he loves to sleep with his face buried in the chocolate scented bunny which is at least an improvement on sleeping with his chocolate hoard melting in his hands.

For grown-ups, wine is always appreciated (hint hint), stick it in an easter basket instead of a booze bag and you are good to go.
If you find a grown-up who still expects something at easter but doesnt drink... well just let them go.
ok ok.  IF they have a sense of humour, and we are running with unicorns here, buy a small easter basket and add a bag of carrots and a fancy lettuce.  Or fill their basket with plants and rabbit and chicken statues for the garden, a bunny rabbit biscuit jar, a chicken... bowl... thing, a swarovski rabbit if you are hoping to get laid, easter pyjamas and coffee mug if you're already married so know you're not getting laid.  Check out Etsy if your loved one is kooky, Honey Birdette if they're kinky (and yes they do sell... umm... eggs...😳). The possibilities are endless...
